Hi, I’m a researcher at DART Laboratory, within the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Michigan. I earned dual Master’s degrees in Architecture and Digital Material Technologies from the University of Michigan as well. My design journey is deeply rooted in innovation and the strategic use of technology in both design and construction processes.
My research within DART focuses on integrating form-finding methods and additive manufacturing to advance the construction of compression-only structures. It includes an investigation of ultra-thin formwork for compression-only structures that are both robotically cast and additively manufactured. My lab experience allows me to explore the potential of additive manufacturing and computational design to transform architectural processes, encouraging me to think differently and push beyond conventional limits. I aim to make a significant impact—whether it’s through innovations in computational design, optimizing construction processes, or developing digital fabrication techniques.
What motivates me? It’s the challenge of transforming complex concepts into tangible, impactful solutions that capture the imagination and set new design benchmarks. I highly value collaboration, the joy of sharing knowledge, and the significance of forging connections within the design community and beyond. If you’re a fellow design enthusiast, a curious student, or someone intrigued by the intersection of technology, art, and architecture, I’d be delighted to connect.
