Archit Goyal

Hello. I am Archit Goyal and I am currently pursuing my Master Of Science in Digital and Material Technologies from the Taubman College Of Architecture & Urban Planning, University of Michigan. I completed my architecture undergraduate studies in Mumbai, India and started working professionally straight after.

My academic focus centers on advanced design and construction methodologies, particularly in the realms of computation design, robotics, and digital fabrication. As a fellow at the DART Laboratory, I am given the opportunity to delve into diverse 3D printing techniques tailored for large-scale building construction.

At the heart of my research interests lies the exploration of innovative in-situ construction practices and utilization of materials found on extra-terrestrial terrain. My ambition is to pioneer the development of habitable structures within Lunar and Martian environments, leveraging computational techniques, autonomous manufacturing systems and comprehensive investigations into material properties. This endeavor seeks to harness the disruptive potential of architecture in outer space, while concurrently establishing a framework to inform sustainable building practices for projects on Earth.

Research Interests: Computation design, Robotic 3D Printing, Digital Fabrication, Artificial Intelligence
